ADULT LIFE PROGRAMS (Click here for more)
Adult Life Programs is an adult day care ministry, housed in the former Youth Building of First Presbyterian Church, which cares for the elderly in Caldwell County. Much like child day care, its purpose is to relieve the burden on children or other caregivers and to provide a community in which the elderly person can thrive.

BETHEL COLONY OF MERCY (Click here for more)
Bethel Colony is a Christian living/recovery community for men with addictions. The program of rehabilitation and recovery involves intense Bible study, prayer, and spiritual work. The basic program lasts for 65 days, though some men stay for a second and third term.
Needs: prayer; basic needs

BIBLE TEACHING IN SCHOOLS
This program has made it possible to hire and support a Bible teacher in the local public school system.

CALDWELL COUNSELING CENTER (Click here for more)
Caldwell Counseling Center is a Christian-based non-profit agency that provides mental health services for individuals on an out-patient basis. It is located next to Lower Creek Baptist Church in the same building as their youth facility. The counseling center specializes in counseling to families and children.  Call 828-758-7928 for more information.

CALDWELL HOUSE
Caldwell House is a halfway house for men coming out of substance-abuse treatment centers. They are helped to move back into society and become self-supporting and productive citizens.
Needs: prayer

CALDWELL PRISON
The Caldwell Prison Ministries focuses on the preaching of the gospel to those in prison and focuses on leading them to decisions for Christ. They hold services throughout the week.
Needs: visitation; prayer; creative supplies (stationery; Bibles)

This program is a one-on-one tutor/mentor program for at-risk students in junior and senior high school.

CRISIS PREGNANCY
The Crisis Pregnancy Help Clinic of Caldwell County offers a variety of services from a Christian perspective. These services include the following: free pregnancy testing; 24-hour crisis hotline; education on pregnancy, prenatal development, abortion, and alternatives; clothing and furnishings to accommodate both mother and baby; post-abortion counseling; information on breastfeeding; referrals for medical care, legal assistance, or other needed community services; ongoing support and friendship. All offered assistance is provided free of charge.
Needs: hotline volunteers; counselors; supplies; prayer

GUARDIAN AD LITEM
The Guardian ad Litem program advocates for the rights and needs of abused children. A number of our members are already involved with this program - but more are needed!

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Click here for more)
Habitat has built thousands of houses nationwide in partnership with people of willing heart but low income. Habitat is a grassroots Christian ministry whose goal is to eliminate homelessness and poverty housing. The program links the community with families in need. Volunteers work alongside the family in building or renovating the home. Local expertise in building, finance, and law enhance the hard work of those obtaining homes.
Needs: workers with all levels of construction skills

HELPING HANDS CLINIC
The Helping Hands Clinic provides free medical care services for citizens of Caldwell County who are uninsured and not receiving the medical care they need. The Clinic uses professional volunteers to provide medical services and medications to people who would not otherwise receive the medical diagnosis, monitoring and treatment they need. The doctors and nurses who provide care in the clinic are the same professionals who practice in the community.

HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE OF CALDWELL COUNTY (Click here for more)
The mission of Caldwell County Hospice to the terminally ill is to provide a loving, caring atmosphere for those so ill, their caregivers, and families in a location appropriate for their respective needs; to relieve the emotional and physical pain of those who come into their care.
Needs: volunteer counselors (training offered)

KOINONIA APARTMENTS (Click here for more)
Koinonia Apartments provides independent living apartments for the elderly, including eight apartments for the mobility-impaired. The sliding fee scale makes it possible for people of all income levels to live in a well-maintained, spacious facility. Koinonia exists to enable dignity and independence for elderly people. The interaction of the broader community is vital to helping residents remain vigorously connected to our town.
Needs: invite someone to lunch!

SHELTER HOME
The Shelter Home provides immediate and safe shelter for battered women and their children. In addition to safe living quarters, the Shelter offers food, clothing, counseling, and support groups. Advocacy for abused women is available in the form of medical, legal, and financial advice. The Shelter Home also serves homeless women and children and victims of rape and sexual assault. The shelter is a place of hope and security for women in the midst of crisis. Rape counseling is also provided, and preventative programs are given in the schools to junior high students.
Needs: babysitters (adults or adults w/teens okay)

LENOIR SOUP KITCHEN
The Lenoir Soup Kitchen provides a hot, nutritious meal five days a week to any who come through its doors. No cost, no questions, or forms are required of guests. The mission of the kitchen is to share the love of Christ with those less fortunate in our community by quite literally feeding the hungry. A warm building, a safe environment, and an hour's respite make up the setting in which the hearty meal is provided. Through the Soup Kitchen, no one in Lenoir needs to go without at least one meal a day.
Needs: volunteers to serve soup at lunchtime (any level of time commitment)

SCHOOL FOR YOUNG CHILDREN (SYC)
SYC is a Christian pre-school ministry of the Church that offers excellent Christ-centered preparation for pre-school children. Call Miriam Fullam, Director at (828) 758-7212 for more information.

WEST LENOIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TUTORING AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Since 2002 we have offered an after school program three Tuesdays a month at West Lenoir Elementary School.  The one hour program includes games, snacks, Bible story teaching, and crafts. The response has been fantastic! More than 100 students participate each month.  Many have come to Vacation Bible School and other events at our church.
Needs: tutor/mentors/volunteers

YOKEFELLOW
Yokefellow's primary purpose is to serve God by giving service to human needs in our community. Yokefellow is a crisis ministry assisting people in immediate need of food, clothing, and/or financial assistance. Assistance could include payments of rent, utilities, medicine, household, or other emergency needs.  Call (828) 754-7088 for more information.
