Habitat for Humanity

Habitat has built thousands of houses nationwide in partnership with people of willing heart but low income. Habitat is a grassroots Christian ministry whose goal is to eliminate homelessness and poverty housing. The program links the community with families in need.

Volunteers work alongside the family in building or renovating the home. Local expertise in building, finance, and law enhance the hard work of those obtaining homes.

Homeowners provide "Sweat Equity" by working alongside volunteers.  Volunteer skills can vary and don't need to be necessarily expert in any craft of homebuilding.  Just a strong spirit of teamwork, and a willingness to get dirty.
